NAEP partnered with Swim SA for World Asthma Day 2023. We participated in a joint Social Media campaign on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram, and our Exco Members spoke at 2 Webinars hosted by Swim SA.
NAEP would like to extend our thanks to Swim SA, and look forward to future collaborations.
The majority of the burden of asthma morbidity and mortality occurs in low and middle income countries. According to the World Health Rankings website, South Africa is ranked 45th in Asthma death rates in the world (13.63 per 100 000 people). NAEP strives to reduce this burden by encouraging health care leaders to ensure availability of and access to effective, quality-assured medications, and through sufficient asthma education.
The Asthma care for All message promotes the development and implementation of effective asthma management programs in South Africa.
